ITALY. The Armani Group has reported double-digit revenue growth from its travel retail operations in 2012. The company said it recorded “˜significant growth worldwide’ thanks to new store openings for Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans and Armani Junior, and that it was continuing the programme of store openings this year.
In particular the company mentioned the opening of its new Emporio Armani store at the DFS Galleria in the Macau Four Seasons last year. The relocated 320sq m store (pictured below) features sinuous, eye-catching lines and a spacious, welcoming environment that Armani says are perfectly representative of the brand.

The company has already opened several new travel retail outlets in 2013, with several more planned for later in the year; a strategy that Armani says shows the confidence and ambition of the brand in travel retail.
So far this year the company has opened new free-standing Emporio Armani stores at Singapore Changi (Terminal 2), Abu Dhabi International and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International airports. For Armani Jeans it has opened a free standing store at Bologna Marconi Airport and shop-in-shop concepts at Brussels, Frankfurt, Palma de Mallorca, Amman Queen Alia and Shanghai Hongqiao airports.
In June a free-standing Armani Jeans store will open at Milan Malpensa Airport, and an Armani Junior shop-in-shop will open at Rome Fiumicino Airport.
