A firework display over Lake Como delighted the guests at Bric’s 60th anniversary party |
Italian leathergoods house Bric’s celebrated its 60th anniversary on 15 September in the presence of 400 guests at a spectacular villa on Lake Como.
The Briccola family, their employees, sales agents, distributors, suppliers, friends, local authorities, fashion journalists and over 150 customers from all over the world celebrated this important milestone.
“In 60 years, Bric’s has become one of the leading brands for luggage and a brand recognised the world over for its ability to combine tradition with innovation and practicality with elegance”, the company said.
The event took place in the marvellous setting of Villa Erba, the Visconti family’s historic residence on Lake Como, where the guests could get a taste of taste Italy’s culinary arts through a gastronomy-themed itinerary and to visit the Luchino Visconti museum and its antique furniture.
Special presenter Jo Squillo interviewed the Briccola family who are now at the helm of Bric’s. Mario Briccola, the company’s founder, his wife Lidia and their eight sons and daughters (Maria Angela, Beatrice, Pietro, Giovanni, Attilio, Roberto, Margherita and Gabriella) all sketched the story of Bric’s, thanked the attendees and praised all the employees.
Together with the Briccola family, the company’s staff have contributed to turn what started out as Azienda Valigeria Fine Mario Briccola into what is Bric’s today – a global player in travel and fashion accessories.
General Manager Roberto Briccola told the guests: “We don’t consider this achievement as our ultimate goal but rather as a step in our commitment as family company. We are very satisfied because we have developed the entrepreneurial project started by our father, Mario Briccola, back in 1952.
“The current economic conditions have created tough times for businesses, but we are quite optimistic about the growth prospect for Bric’s worldwide – primarily in the BRIC countries of Brazil, Russia, India and China.
“It is possible to do business also in difficult times. We must be creative and above all have the guts to invest in human resources and allocate financial resources, by capitalising on the Italian taste and products. Our founder has always claimed that ‘we must believe in what we do’. Actually, we do believe in what we are doing and are more than ever committed to put in place this outstanding project.”
At the end of the official celebration, a firework display delighted the guests. Spectacular fireworks illuminated the night sky over Lake Como and were accompanied by famous Italian arias.
