UAE. Dubai Duty Free Foundation and Dubai Cares have extended their partnership for another three years, continuing their mission to provide children and youth in developing countries with access to quality education.
This will be achieved through their joint support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning by 2030.

Dubai Cares CEO and Vice Chairman H.E. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg highlighted the significance of the partnership: “Purpose-driven collaboration sits at the heart of philanthropic impact and partnerships with entities such as the Dubai Duty Free Foundation are crucial to helping Dubai Cares’ further its efforts to position education at the core of our Sustainable Development Goals.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Dubai Duty Free Foundation will donate AED1.5 million (US$408,422) annually to Dubai Cares. The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg and Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free.
“We are thankful to the Dubai Duty Free Foundation for their long-standing association and support that enables us to continue working towards unlocking the potential of education in transforming the lives of individuals and communities, and accelerating progress towards a prosperous and sustainable future for all,” added H.E. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg.
Dubai Duty Free Senior Vice President of Finance Dr. Bernard Creed, Senior Vice President of Marketing Sinead El Sibai and Manager of Corporate Responsibility Department Olympia Pineda, were present at the signing. Zainab Faraidooni, Deputy Director of Donor Relations and Partnerships at Dubai Cares, also attended the event.

Since the partnership began in 2017, Dubai Duty Free Foundation has supported several Dubai Cares programmes in different countries worldwide. The foundation was established in 2004 under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Duty Free.
Colm McLoughlin said, “We are delighted to renew our partnership with Dubai Cares through this MoU to continue supporting their educational programmes that will benefit children and young people in underprivileged communities around the world. We will also continue working with them closely to identify specific initiatives that tie in with our own foundation’s objectives.”
Dubai Cares has launched education programmes that have reached over 21 million beneficiaries in 60 developing countries, and the organisation is now actively advocating for global education transformation as a key driver of human development. ✈
