Independent Irish drinks and travel retail specialist Duty Free Global has appointed much-respected industry executive John Kilmartin as Vice President of Sales.
Kilmartin brings close to 30 years of travel retail experience to his new role.
Commenting on Kilmartin’s appointment, Duty Free Global Founder & Commercial Director Barry Geoghegan said: “We are absolutely thrilled that John will be joining the team. He brings a wealth of experience to the Duty Free Global team, understanding both the operator and brand side of travel retail.
Kilmartin previously worked with Irish travel retailer Aer Rianta International (ARI) for 18 years from 1991 to 2009 before joining Patrón Spirits International.
At ARI, Kilmartin held several leadership positions in commercial operations, business development, procurement and supply chain.
Kilmartin left Aer Rianta International to lead Patrón Spirits International’s travel retail expansion as Vice President Global Travel Retail. During his tenure at the company, he helped grow Patrón Tequila into a leading force in the channel.
Geoghegan added, “This will be a key role within Duty Free Global as we grow our global sales team and brand portfolio in travel retail. John is looking forward to meeting travel retail operators with our fantastic brand partners at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo and TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this October.”
