HUNGARY. Gebr. Heinemann has unveiled its renovated and expanded store at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport Terminal 2A in significantly expanded space.
The offer is notable for a keen emphasis on regional products and design touches, complemented by an emphasis on sustainability, the retailer told The Moodie Davitt Report.
“In addition to international spirits and confectionery, regionality continues to play a key role in the assortment as well as in the design of this store,” Gebr. Heinemann said.
Such regionality is reflected in the store’s design and materials used, which collectively evoke Budapest’s landmarks, such as the roof of Matthias Church – located in the Buda Castle and considered one of Europe’s most remarkable churches.
The sense of regionality has also been strengthened in the assortment with the additional space gained by the shop extension mainly used for additional regional products.
In line with Gebr. Heinemann’s corporate principles, the store features sustainable design that embraces the reuse of elements such as back walls.
Liquor, tobacco, and confectionery are the dominant categories, complemented by perfume & cosmetics, toys and travel accessories.
Gebr. Heinemann has been operating at both terminals for more than ten years. Other duty free locations include Pier 1, Terminal 2B and SkyCourt central commercial area. ✈
