NEW ZEALAND. LS travel retail Pacific has partnered with Gibbston Valley winery and Queenstown Airport to open a pop-up wine store in the domestic terminal.
The store will operate from 13 June to 11 July, running in tandem with the ski season, Queenstown Winter Festival and New Zealand Mountain Film Festival.
Showcasing one of the Central Otago region’s leading wineries, the pop-up allows passengers to taste and purchase the full range of Gibbston Valley wines on offer. A home-delivery service is available for any customers who wish to buy wine by the case, and LS travel retail is working with Gibbston Valley to implement a duty free offer for international travellers.

LS travel retail said: “The Gibbston Valley Winery pop-up goes to the heart of the industry’s “˜Trinity’ ideal, enhancing the mutual understanding and partnership between the three stakeholders: airport, vendor and retailer.
LS travel retail Pacific CEO, Matt Mercier said: “We are excited to be partnering with Gibbston Valley Winery and Queenstown Airport, and see this as an excellent opportunity to showcase one of Central Otago’s iconic wine makers to passengers.
“A strong partnership between all three stakeholders represents a genuine triumph for tri-partite collaboration. We would like to acknowledge Queenstown Airport for providing prominent floor space during one of the airport’s busiest periods and Gibbston Valley Winery who invested in the store set-up; this is sure to provide an invaluable addition to the passenger experience at Queenstown Airport.”
Manned by two local food & beverage experts, the pop-up store takes the customer through the entire winemaking process, while also allowing them to enjoy the fruits of that endeavour.
Gibbston Valley Winery CEO Greg Hunt said that the pop-up store was the ideal addition to the winery’s expanding portfolio of food and wine offerings. “The new airport pop-up store will recreate a small part of what we offer and is extremely convenient… imagine hopping off a plane from Auckland, Wellington or elsewhere and grabbing a few bottles of Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir before you dash to your hotel or stocking up on gifts before you head away home or to visit friends.”
