The new shopping and restaurant offer broadens the choice for travellers using HKIA’s West hall |
HONG KONG. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has awarded a series of retail and dining contracts for concessions in the Terminal 1 West Hall at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). These include 33 brands, many of them new to the airport, across fashion, accessories & watches, packaged food, travel accessories & essentials, audio-visual & electronics, toys and gifts & souvenirs, plus food & drinks.
The new outlets are expected to begin operating in phases from the end of this year, bringing a new look to HKIA’s West Hall.
Newcomers to HKIA include the first Calvin Klein Platinum store in travel retail, Furla, Kate Spade, Pandora, Paul & Shark and Koi Kei Bakery from Macau. The West Hall will house the first J.S. Trunk & Co. located within the restricted area of an Asian airport, carrying travel accessories brands including American Tourister, Hartmann and Samsonite. In addition, The Magic of Hong Kong Disneyland is introducing its first in-store interactive amusement at its outlet in the West Hall.
The East to West Food Market, a 1,497sq m dining area, will feature local, regional and international cuisines. Travellers will find Michelin-rated Cantonese cuisine specialist Yung Kee Restaurant, Street Food MIC by Alvin Leung (from three-Michelin-star chef Alvin Leung), Michelin-recommended Chinese noodles and congee specialist Chee Kei and Japanese ramen outlet Baikohken.
Other international dining choices include O’Learys Bar & Restaurant, Korean-fusion food brand School Food, OldTown White Coffee, Tai Hing Express, Burger King and Mövenpick.
“With the new “˜East to West Food Market’ and a wide range of exciting retail brands, the West Hall, which complements the offerings available in the East Hall of Terminal 1, provides another one-stop shopping and dining zone in a key nodal area of HKIA,” said AAHK Executive Director, Commercial Cissy Chan.
